One of the best Athletic Training jobs in the City of San Antonio is now available for a July 15, 2026 start! Join Bethpage Consulting (BPC), the largest provider of Athletic Training services in the San Antonio area, in the role as the Head Athletic Trainer for the City of San Antonio Fire Department. Bethpage currently employs fifteen full-time Athletic Trainers and 165 contract Athletic Trainers providing full and part time coverage across various programs, schools, teams and municipalities. For the Fire Department, the work location is within the City of San Antonio Fire Department Wellness Center located in downtown San Antonio. The ATs utilize a fully furnished AT room complete with Hi-Lo tables, infrared saunas, traction tables, many other tools and a very large and fully stocked fitness/weight room designed specifically for the Fire Department. The Head AT will have the opportunity to trade shifts with the Assistant AT, when needed, which runs from 0745-1630 M-F. The two ATs are supported within the Wellness Center by two full-time Nurse Practitioners and a Mental Health Support Team. The Head AT will also lead a once a week education session with Fire Department members so they can keep a pulse on the needs of the department as a whole. 

The ideal candidate will be a Licensed Atheltic Trainer in the State of Texas with a minimum of five (5) years experience as an Atheltic Trainer, Head AT experience preferred and NATA certification desired. Also will have extensive experience in strength and conditioning, CSCS preferred, a deep knowledge and love of manual therapy, and will be or will be able to become dry needling certified. This candidate will have a passion for supporting the first responders that keep us safe daily, will have a deep knowledge base of spinal health, and will be very detail oriented.   

PRN opportunities also exist for additional pay beyond the work day

Pay Rate: $79,000/yr salary plus benefits
 
Qualifications:
State Athletic Training License by the TDLR, NATA BOC Certification and NSCA CSCS or TSAC preferred. 5+ years previous experience as an athletic trainer
 
Education: Bachelor’s degree required
Licensure/Certification/Registration: NATA BOC certification recommended; State of Texas Athletic Training licensure required. CPR/AED certification required.
